Spring 2017 Add/Drop Round 1 Has Begun

Happy New Year! The Add/Drop process for Spring 2017 has begun! During the Add/Drop Process, you will have the opportunity to add to or adjust your Spring 2017 elective schedule. OLR Login Error and Solution

If you have tried to log in to OLR this morning, you may have received an error message like the one below:


Our Technology Services team is aware of this and is working on renewing the security certificate, but in the meantime, please do the following as a work around to access the site:


  1. Click “Advanced” on the bottom left.

  2. Click “Proceed to olr.haas.berkeley.edu (unsafe)” to get to the site.


You may have to repeat this step each time you try to log in to OLR until the Technology Services team is able to fix the problem.

Spring 2017 Schedule Updates

Here is the updated Spring 2017 Elective Schedule.  A few changes to highlight:




  • EWMBA292T.3, Diversity in the Workplace (2 units)


Add/Drop Rounds

Round 1 of Add/Drop, which will occur prior to the start of the Spring 2017 semester is now open and will close Friday, January 6 at 12PM. Rounds 2 and 3 will take place during the first two weeks of the semester, followed by a final Drops only round. You can view all Add/Drop dates and times below and on the Registration Timeline.


Round 1: Jan 3 9AM – Jan 6 12PM

Round 2: Jan 17 9AM  – Jan 24 12PM

Round 3*: Jan 24 4PM – Jan 28 6PM

Round 4 (Drops Only)*: Jan 29 9AM – Jan 31 9AM


* Please note new dates and times for Round 3 & Round 4.

Instructor Drops

Instructors have the right to drop students from their courses if they do not show up to class at least once in the first two weeks of the semester.  Some instructors have indicated their intent to enforce this policy in their course description, but you should know that they have the right to enforce this policy even though they haven’t publicized it.  If you plan to miss the first two weeks of school for any reason, please contact your instructors ASAP.

Full-Time MBA Course Requests

EW students can enroll in a Full-Time MBA course on a space-available basis. The only FTMBA courses you cannot take, regardless of space-availability, are courses that we also offer in our program in the same semester. For more information about adding FTMBA courses, including MBA 294 Speaker Series courses, please review our FTMBA Academic Policy page.

If you are interested in a FTMBA course, we encourage you to attend the first class meeting.  If you are sure it’s something you want, please submit this FTMBA Course Request Form and provide your ranked choices between January 3  – January 27 so we can add you to our request list.  We work closely with the Full-Time MBA Program Office on these and will respond to your request prior to the end of Add/Drop, so you have time to confirm your enrollment.


We will process waitlist requests for Full-Time courses on the following two dates:

Friday, January 20 at 10AM (students notified by end of day Saturday, January 21)

Friday, January 27 at 10AM (students notified by end of day Friday, January 27)

Enrollment Changes and Fees

As a reminder, all enrollment changes must be made during the Add/Drop period via OLR. You are responsible for all enrollment fees and academic work. It is suggested that you confirm your schedule during Add/Drop even if you do not intend to change anything after Bidding. No drops will be allowed after the final drop deadline (Drops only round ends Tuesday, Jan 31 at 9AM)


As a reminder, Spring fees are due on January 13th, 2017.


Auditing Policy

Please note that the auditing of courses is discouraged. The Program Office does not administratively support auditing of courses (i.e., access to course materials, class emails, etc.). Please review our Auditing policy for more information.


Unit Requirements

Financial Aid: In order to qualify for Financial Aid, you must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units for the semester.


Maximum Units: Students are limited to a maximum of 9 units for the semester.
